Memorial service for Mrs. Bettie Ann McLaurin 57 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Rivers of Living Waters in Killeen, TX.

Inurnment with Military Honors will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, 9:00 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Bettie Ann McLaurin, 57, of Killeen, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center.

Bettie was born on October 21, 1966, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Harvey Lee Nicholson and the late Verna Lee Butler. She is survived by her spouse, Tyrone McLaurin; beloved daughters, Sharde Swain (Pastor Robert Swain) and Davide Davis; and her cherished sons, Malik, Tyrone, and Tyrrell McLaurin. Bettie also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, Haywood, Robert, Jayshawn, Davayla, Sariah, Rmanda, Londyn, Raegan Dashual, Emersyn, Kyvory, Malakye, Karmyn; and her great-grandson, Sincere; siblings, Robert Boyd, Staica Jourdain, Wendy Robinson, Kenneth Butler, Steven Butler, Dominique Butler; and the late Steve Butler; along with numerous nieces and nephews, also mourn her loss.

A proud graduate of East Kemper High School (1983) and Tarleton State University (2007) with a Bachelor's degree in social work, Bettie furthered her education with a Master of Arts in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from American Theological Seminary (2013). A decorated army veteran, she was honored with the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Services Medal, Marksman Rifle Badge, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and Driver and Mechanic Badge. Her achievements stand as a testament to her dedication and hard work.

Her entrepreneurial spirit marked Bettie's professional journey. She began with childcare services and then spent 21 years in government contracting, founding Solution One Industries, Inc. Her passions included photography, event planning, gardening, and traveling with her sisters and friends. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family. Bettie was also an active member of multiple non-profit organizations, including The Boys and Girls Club of Central Texas and The Erica White Foundation, and she founded The Branch Foundation, which supported teenage mothers.

Bettie's sudden departure is a profound loss for her family and the numerous individuals whose lives she touched through her kindness, dedication, and love. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. Your presence and kind words have been a source of comfort and strength.
