Funeral service for Mr. Augusta L. Taylor, 68 of Copperas Cove, TX will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, 12:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery in Copperas Cove, TX.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the church.

Mr. Taylor passed away November 28, 2021, in Copperas Cove, TX.

Augusta L. Taylor, Jr. known as "Taylor" was born March 28, 1953, to parents Augusta Taylor, Sr. and Lillian Lewis in Sinton, Texas. He received his elementary and high school education from Booker T. Washington where he played football, baseball, and ran track. After graduation, he attended truck driving school and worked as a truck driver for several years after which he worked as a custodian for the San Patricio County Courthouse and retired after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Zion Fair Baptist Church in Sinton where he served faithfully as a member of the Usher Ministry, Male Chorus, and Kitchen Staff. He relocated to Copperas Cove in 2012 where he then united with the Unity Baptist Church and was a member of the Men's Ministry. Taylor loved people and was loved by all who came to know him.

Taylor was preceded in death by his parents and stepdad, John Elton Davis; brother, Marvis Taylor, Sr.; niece, Ethel Mae Lamkin-Watson, and stepdaughter, Rosie. Fond memories of him will be in the hearts of his sister, Joyce Marie (Freeman) Lamkin; aunt, Olivia Henry Richardson; uncles, Jim Richardson and Lester Henry, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and church family.
