Memorial service for Ms. Artie Patrice Robinson, 62 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, April 23, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Ms. Robinson passed away April 14, 2021 in Killeen, TX.

Artie Patrice Robinson (Smith) affectionately known as "Pat", was born August 18, 1958 to James and Rena Smith in Montgomery Alabama.  The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1960. She enjoyed a cheerful life in Houston. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

After graduation she joined the United States Army in March of 1981 where she was afforded the opportunity to serve her country and travel the world. Artie attained the rank of Sergeant while serving her country and in December 1993 she received an honorable discharge while stationed at Fort Hood, TX.  Artie met her husband of 13 years in the army, and their union blessed them with 2 children.  After retiring her family then resided in the Central Texas area.

As a teacher for over 15 years, education was always important to Artie.  After graduating from high school in Houston, she went on to further her education attending Prairie View A & M University.  At age 50, she stopped teaching at the Montessori school and went back to further her educational goals. She attained a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Texas A & M University Central Texas, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.  She went on to become a Licensed counselor where she served her community advocating for Homeless Veterans, men, women, and their children to find refuge and resources.

Artie was a woman of faith, raised in a Christian home.  She later accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior while stationed in Germany in 1989. She united with the Christian House of Prayer in 1992 becoming a member and serving on a multitude of auxiliaries over the past 30 years.  She enjoyed evangelism, outreach, volunteering, and any opportunity to witness to others about the love of Jesus Christ.   She also worked as an educator for 7 years at Perfect Praise Academy (C.H.O.P.) where she was able to teach, nurture, guide and touch many lives of her students and their families with life lessons instilled to this day.

Artie had a heart of gold.  Her level of devotion to God, family and work goes unmatched. She never passed an opportunity to help someone in need or lend a listening ear.  She was selfless, kind, empathetic and a supportive friend.  Artie's actions were truly indicative of a faithful Christian.  Galatians 5:22 embodied Artie Patrice Robinson. She truly walked in love and each encounter she had was graced with dignity and sincerity.  We are grateful for the life, love, and legacy she shared with the world.

Left to cherish her memory: son, Rodney Robinson (Nicole); daughter, Alicia Robinson; her beloved grandchildren, Brianna Brookes, Naima Brookes, Kadence Richter, Marquis Richter, Levi Robinson, and Lily Robinson; mother, Rena Smith; sisters, Raynetta Glenn, Clarrissa Lott; brother, Reginald Smith (Wanda); and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Artie Mae Mathis, father James Smith, sister LaWanda Nelson and nephew Marcus Celestine.
