Mrs. Almetter Little was born on July 21, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey at City Hospital to the late Mr. Edward Hampton and Mrs. Hattie Hampton. She was the beloved sister of the late Ulysses Hampton, Charles Hampton, Robert Hampton, Alfred Hampton, Dorothy Hampton, Helen Moses, and Rosalee Nowlin. She passed away June 30, 2025, in Killeen, TX.

Almetter received her education at East Side High School in Newark, New Jersey. She was an active and spirited member of the New Jersey Washington Cover Drum and Bugle Corps during her youth, and her deep faith guided her throughout life. She was a longtime member of Israel A.M.E. Church in Newark before later joining Word of Knowledge Ministries in Killeen, Texas, where she served faithfully as the Church Mother.

Professionally, Mrs. Little dedicated her life to caring for others. She was certified by the New Jersey State Nurse Aide Registry through the Department of Health and Senior Services and served as a nurse aide for 17 years before retiring from the Masonic Home of New Jersey.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Robert James Little Sr. From their union came seven cherished children: Mr. Robert James Little Jr., Mr. Rommie Lee Little, Mr. Reginald Little, Mr. Rodrick Little, Mrs. Doreen Hooper, Ms. Donna Little, and Mrs. Diane Alexander.

In September 2011, Mrs. Little relocated to Texas, where she was lovingly cared for by her daughter Donna Little, her son Rommie Little, his wife Clara Little, and their daughter Clarissa Harris.

Mrs. Almetter Little leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith. She is survived by her seven children, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, in-laws, church family, and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

Her life was one of devotion—to her family, her faith, and her community—and her spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her.
