Alice Faye was born March 28, 1945 to Johnnie and Myra Bradford in Atlanta, Texas. She was called home February 5, 2023 at her home in Killeen, Texas. She lived in Atlanta, Texas as a baby and moved to Chicago prior to going to school. She was diligent in her studies, graduating early from Harrison Technical School, Chicago, Illinois in January of 1964.
After graduating from Harrison Technical School, Alice moved to San Diego California. She resided in San Diego for 40 years. On October 10, 1974, Alice was united in holy matrimony to Willie B. Williams in San Diego, California. They shared many wonderful memories over 31 years of marriage. Alice welcomed her son, Maurice Williams on November 26, 1965.
Alice loved serving the Lord, in and out of church. She went to Mt Pisca Baptist Church (San Diego/8 years), St Paul Baptist Church (San Diego/6 years) and Skyline Church (San Diego/16 years). She went on a missionary trip to Israel with Skyline Church. She also was a leader in the Special Education room for Skyline Church. After Sis. Alice was employed as a Home Health Nurse for 14 years. Alice started substitute teaching when she came to Killeen. She became a Permanent Substitute Teacher with Killeen Independent School District. Lovingly known as "Grandma" at Liberty Hill Middle School, she was the heartbeat of that school because her "kids" loved her dearly. Miss Alice was a special gift. She could brighten the day just by being in her presence. As "Substitute of the Year", she was lauded in the Killeen news for teaching the kids about her experience in the Civil Rights Movement.
Alice was an avid traveler and had taken a voyage on every Carnival Cruise Ship with the exception of the Mardi Gras. She traveled almost everywhere with the exception of the African Continent. She visited Stamps, Arkansas and Kilgore, Texas every year for family reunions and as well as visiting family at Langley AFB, Virginia and Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota.
