Funeral service for Mr. Albert Anthony Mouton Sr., 62 of Anchorage, AK will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the funeral home.

July 14, 2024 at 5:10pm, while in Providence hospital in Anchorage, Alaska with his daughters, Brandi Mouton and LaTanya Tolbert at his side, he peacefully transitioned.

Albert Anthony Mouton Sr., affectionately known as Sergeant Mouton to his Soldiers, and Bubbie to his closest friends and family was born December 20, 1961 to the late Albert Anthony Francis, and the late Gloria Marie Mouton.

Albert was a father to Shannon Mouton of Houston, TX, Albert Mouton Jr., of Columbus, Ohio, LaTanya (Kristian) Tolbert of Copperas Cove, TX, Brandi Mouton of Miami, Florida, and Matthew Mouton of San Antonio, TX. He has eight grandchildren, Kemet Levels, and Zion Haynes of Columbus, OH, Aria Jade Mouton-Perez, of Querétaro, Mexico, Aarrah Mouton Paulk, Amarie Cesareo, Kristian Tolbert Jr., Avontay Tolbert, and Azurite Tolbert of Copperas Cove, TX.

He has four siblings, Vanessa (Alvin) Antoine of Carencro, LA, Kimberly (Jerome) Bias of Crowley, LA, Gerard (Julie Rotella) Francis of Lafayette, LA, and Ladacia (Christopher) Austin of Houston, TX. One God-daughter, Tammy Francis of Lafayette, LA, and his God-mother, Dolly Glover of Houston, TX. Nine nieces, four nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

Bubbie graduated from Crowley High School, Class of 1981, briefly attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette before enlisting in the United States Army November 28, 1984 where he served with distinction. He completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA, as an Infantryman. His first duty assignment was Fort Ord, CA. There he completed Jungle Warfare Training, before his next assignment in Bamberg, Germany, then on to Panama, South America, where he completed specialty training and earned his Ranger Tab, and lastly Fort Polk, LA where he was discharged after,  faithfully serving 12 years, 4 months, and 5 days. SGT Mouton was a dedicated Soldier who selflessly answered the call to our nation with unwavering courage and honor.

SGT Mouton distinguished himself, rising through the ranks and earning numerous accolades, including Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Ranger Tab.

Upon his discharge from the Army, Albert moved to Alaska where he made it his home and was an avid volunteer for the Salvation Army.

He possessed a charismatic personality that endeared him to family, friends, and Soldiers alike. Beyond his military service, he cherished spending quality time with his children, grand-children and loved-ones.

Albert was raised, knowing and having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He fellowshipped in every location he settled in, even if it was a brief stay. His passion for singing praise and worship with his daughter is something he always highlights when he speak of the goodness of God.

He was preceded in death by his son DeJesus Antonio Mouton, his father Albert Anthony Francis, his mother Gloria Mouton-Huddleston, his sister, Andrea G. Francis, his brother Wade Francis, his maternal grandfather, Joseph Mouton Sr., maternal grandmother Hilda (Eric) Siner, paternal grandparents, Laura and Taft Francis, and maternal great grandparents, Emily and Wesley Daigle and paternal great grandparents, Alfred and Alma Mouton.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
